The Chelle Gallery

Michelle "Chelle" Filice  was born and raised in Connecticut.  She headed out west to Colorado State University were she earned her BA in Art History.  Moving further west to California more than a decade ago, she currently resides in the bay area as a full time painter and mother of two.

Chelle descibes herself as an impressionistic realist. "I paint on location "en plein air", then return to the studio to recreate my experience in a larger format."   A black belt in Tae Kwon Do helps her endurance and focus.  "Painting is a physical activity and can be draining. Similar to martial arts training, painting keeps my mind and body sharp."

Education is also a part of the process.  Chelle takes classes at The Pacific Art League and workshops from notable artists, Betty Carr,  Brian Blood and Kevin Macpherson.

Chelle is a member of Oil Painters of America, the American Impressionist Society, the Pacific Art League and the Los Gatos Art Association.   She is represented by Linda Durnell Art Consultants in San Jose, Tahill Galleries in San Mateo, California, Paint Horse Gallery in Breckenridge, Colorado and Red Sable Gallery in Freehold, New Jersey.
